Compose Yourself: Music History & Theory from the Alchemist Age & Beyond is an 18-lesson self-contained curriculum that explores the instrumental music genre and composition. It includes the history of instrumental music, influences, composers, theory, and the science of sound. Learners will be introduced to concepts, asked to listen to music, and engage in activities that help them better understand the art form. Compose Yourself is a diverse look at how instrumentation impacted and expressed our cultural shifts.
The study includes a short list of optional extension books and resources that align well with the study material, but are not required. This study is scheduled within Torchlight Level 2: Logic & Legends and can be purchased as part of a Level 2 bundle or used as a stand-alone program. This study is written for learners 7+, but can be successful with learners through high school, as it introduces many rarely encountered concepts. The topics covered are:

Torchlight’s The Art of Navigating Finance: Introduction to Finance & Responsible Consumerism is a 15-week finance lab that will introduce the basics of money and sound financial decision-making through lessons paired with readings and activities that will support them in putting their new skills and understanding into practice. The closing lessons include studies on responsible consumerism, an inoculation against common marketing techniques that will prepare learners to evaluate psychological tactics meant to get them to spend, providing a more holistic look at finances for a balanced economic future.
